SHORT CIRCUIT CAUSED TURBINE/REACTOR TRIP

The plant was operating at rated power. At 9:24 a short circuit on the internal paging system tripped the inverter no. 6 which supplies power to the turbine electro-hydraulic (EH) control system. Drop of the EH fluid pressure caused turbine trip which scrammed the reactor. The cause of the short circuit was determined to be human error during maintenance of the paging system. All tge safety functions during the event were fully available. The inverter was repaired. A modification was done on the paging system to additionally isolate it from the inverter. After the system had been checked, the operation was resumed.
