On January 14, 1993 at 9 a.m. at the separating wall between unit 3 and 4 from unit 4 side some smoke was discovered. Smouldering sleepers were found at the ventilation center (premises 805/3, hight mark 44). NPP personnel and a fire brigade extinguished the fire source. Radioactive measurements detected no radioactive release.
