ERF description: Ulchin unit 1 was operated at rated power.
Status alarm light test was performed to check its sound function.
As soon as pushing the status alarm light indicating C-5, overcurrent relay contained in 48V DC power supply cabinet actuated. 48V DC for control circuit power supply loss made control rods drop into the reactor core. Investigation revealed that conductive foreign material entered the socket of status light and made circuit fail. There was no release of radioactive materials outside the reactor building and no unplanned exposure to employees.
