From the publication:

One of the options suggested for disposal of high-level radioactive waste resulting
from the generation of nuclear power is burial beneath the deep ocean floor in
geologically stable sediment formations which have no economic value.

The 8-volume series provides an assessment of the technical feasibility and
radiological safety of this disposal concept based on the results obtained
by ten years of co-operation and information exchange among the Member
countries participating in the NEA Seabed Working Group.

This report presents the results of the radiological assessment which consists
inestimating the detriment to man and to the environment which could result
from the disposal of high level nuclear waste within seabed sediments in the
deep oceans.
