From the publication:
S• E • R • A LABOUR ENVIRONMENT CAMPAIGN Successive British governments have supported the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel, despite its irrationality, high costs, pollution, health hazards, proliferation dangers and strong opposition from environmental groups and the public. This pamphlet describes the safer, cheaper and environmentally benign alternative - dry storage - used by most other nuclear countries. Britain's adherence to reprocessing results in our being out of step with the rest of the world. The pamphlet recommends that the Labour Government should take steps to stop reprocessing and switch to dry storage. This will benefit public health, protect the environment and save up to £6 billion. SERA, the Socialist Environment and Resources Asssociation, is the environment campaign affiliated to the Labour Party, yet is an independent pressure group. Believing that social and environmental concerns can, and must, be addressed together we work to integrate green ideas into the policy and ideology of the Labour Party and the wider Labour Movement.
