ENERGY PLANNING IN DENMARK

The Danish Energy Agency

The Danish Energy Agency is the executive arm of the Royal Danish Ministry of
Energy. With a permanent staff of some 200 employees, the Agency is responsible
for the day to day administration of the energy policy of the Kingdom of Denmark
(see diagram on the last page).

Introduction
As one of the few countries in the world Denmark has introduced systematic
planning of its national energy supply. This planning forms the basis for an
extensive development with coherent supply systems, employing many different
energy technologies.
The planning system is designed for active participation of local and regional
authorities, energy supply undertakings and the public.
