Procedures For Dealing With Medical Emergencies In NRC Headquarters Buildings

The purpose of this announcement is to outline the procedures to follow should a
medical emergency occur in an NRC Headquarters building during duty hours.

NRC Headquarters has a Health Unit with two branches, one located in OWFN,
Room 2-F-11, telephone number 492-0272, and one in the Phillips Building, Room
P-130, telephone number 492-7481. A nurse is on duty at OWFN on Monday through
Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and at the Phillips Building on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 a. m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Tuesday and Thursday
from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Both branches are closed from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
for lunch.

Minor Illness or Injury

One of the services offered by the Health Unit is evaluation and limited treatment
of NRC employees with on-the-job illness or injury. If you should require medical
attention for a minor illness or injury, go to either the OWFN or the Phillips
Building branch of the Health Unit.
