LITTLE ATOM

From looking at Minatome, it becomes clear that involvement with France and its
nuclear industry, will drag Australia into growing opposition to the development
of nuclear power and nuclear weapons. Granting another uranium mining lease to
Minatome at Ben Lomond is far more than a local issue. The health and wellbeing
of workers and local communities in the Townsville area of Queensland is a common
concern of workers and communities wherever France carries on nuclear activities -
in Namibia, France, French Polynesia. Citizens are paying dearly for this industry
which pollutes and poisons land, food and water supplies, denying our most basic
human right - to live in peace in a nuclear-free environment.
