From the publication:
FOREWORD Since August 1965, the Nuclear Energy Agency - from 1967 onwards in conjunction with the International Atomic Energy Agency - has periodically published reports on uranium resources and demand. This report, commonly known as the "Red Book", is the ninth in this series. The information on uranium resources, production and exploration has been prepared in the framework of the "NEA/IAEA Working Party on Uranium Resources" using data provided, in response to a questionnaire, by national authorities. Unless specifically indicated otherwise, the report is concerned with data related to the situation in the World Outside the Centrally Planned Economies Area (WOCA). Membership of the Working Party was open to representatives of all those countries that responded to the questionnaire. The names of the members of the Working Party on Uranium Resources under whose direction this report has been prepared are listed in the Annex to this report. Information on uranium demand has been provided by the Working Party on Nuclear Fuel Cycle Requirements (WPNFCR) based partly on questionnaire responses and, for the longer term, on projections made by that Working Party. A more detailed analysis of the uranium demand situation is contained in the report by the WPNFCR "Nuclear Energy and its Fuel Cycle: Prospects to 2025", commonly known as the "Yellow Book". (OECD Report, Paris, 1982). The reader's attention is drawn to Section 4, "Definitions", which the Working Party strongly urges be read before the remainder of the report. Readers are requested to complete and return the questionnaire which is to be found at the end of the report.
