Introduction

In connection with the evaluation work done by ELSAM and ELKRAFT concerning
final deposition of radioactive waste from nuclear power production, calculations
have been done of the rate of heat generation and the radioactive radiation intensity
from spent fuel and from the final glassified waste.

Methods. The program used for the calculations is a version of the CCC-program (ref.
1), which is equipped with routines for calculating fission product concentrations
(the procedure FISPRO, ref. 2), actinide-concentrations (the procedure ACTPRO,
ref. 3), and the decay heat from fission products (the procedure HENVAR, ref. 5).
New programming and data collection was made in order to calculate the decay heat
from actinides. Briefly, the new programming consisted in modifications enabling
reading of the new enlarged data files and performing proper summations of
a-, ß-, y-, and neutron emissions.
