Power Failure: How the World Bank is Failing to Adequately Finance Renewable Energy for Development Executive Summary The energy needs of developing countries are enormous and growing. Worldwide, nearly one out of every four people still lack access to electricity, and more than one out of every three people still rely on traditional biomass - wood, charcoal, or manure - for cooking and heating.
