INTRODUCTION

The Satellite Video Exchange Society was established in 1973 as a non-profit
organization. It is dedicated to the proliferation of an alternative media network
that would provide accessible, affordable equipment and promote the efforts of
independent producers. Centres such as the Video Inn have greatly contributed
to producers gaining wide recognition in the field of alternate communications.
The 1500 titles housed in the Video Inn library represent the largest international
collection of independent productions in North America. 

Independent video producers began documenting the foreseeable dangers of
nuclear technology during the early seventies. Over the years, the Video Inn
tape library has procured tapes of interest to the public that present nuclear
issues and concerns. Examined are the immediate and long term effects of nuclear
technology and its application. Our tape collection also attempts to examine
the economic, environmental, and social significance of continuing with research
of questionable consequence. We hope this catalogue will be of assistance for
educational and reference purposes.
