From the publication:

Marketing Urenco has been successful in its marketing efforts in several areas. A
major supply contract was signed at the end of 1984 with the Swedish State Power
Board covering the enrichment requirements of several of its reactors. A second
contract in Sweden was concluded early in February 1985 with OKG Aktiebolag.
Urenco has been very active in the United States and secured its first long term
contract there in late 1984 with Boston Edison for its Pilgrim 1 reactor. This was
followed in June 1985 by another contract with Sacramento Municipal Utility
District in California to supply Rancho Seco power station. Urenco has also
increased its market share in West Germany by concluding contracts with major
German utilities for fuel supplies for the Emsland, Grohnde, Krümmel and Stade
nuclear reactors. Over the period Urenco's order book has increased by about a
third, and is now worth in excess of £21/2 billion (US$3 billion).

Developments in the USA Urenco's first contract in the USA and the prospects of
obtaining a further share of the large US market prompted the establishment of a
new company, Urenco, lnc., in February 1985 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Urenco Ltd, with its offices in Washington O.C. The new company performs
marketing and contract administration in the US on behalf of Urenco Ltd.

Operating Plant Urenco has enrichment sites at Almelo in The Netherlands, at
Capenhurst in the United Kingdom, and at Gronau, in West Germany. Additions of
capacity at both the Almelo and Capenhurst plants continued routinely to satisfy
steadily increasing requirements. Urenco's total capacity is currently 1.5 million
SWU (Separative Work Units) per annum. Construction of Urenco's third and
newest enrichment plant at the Gronau site has progressed in accordance with the
original schedule. The operating licence was granted by the North Rhine Westphalia
Government in June 1985 and production commenced in August 1985. Production
will reach some 400,000 SWU by 1989 and the plant is expected to reach its full
1 million SWU p.a. production capability by the mid-1990's.

Deliveries Urenco has now been making commercial deliveries of enriched uranium
for over ten years and up to the end of 1984 had delivered some 3.6 million SWU.
In 1985 Urenco will make deliveries in excess of 1.4 million SWU, involving
some 80 individual shipments of enriched uranium.

Expansion Policy Urenco plants are constructed to a modular design and capacity
additions can be adjusted so that production corresponds closely with delivery
requirements. This construction policy enables Urenco to avoid investment in idle
capacity. Urenco's capacity is expected to increase to 3 million SWU per annum
by 1990 and to over 4.5 million SWU per annum by the year 1995.
