From the publication:
1.2 Purpose and Structure of the Proof 2. The purpose of this proof is to assess the role of nuclear power, and in particular the proposed PWR at Hinkley Point 'C' in contributing to strategies aimed at reducing the threat of global warming from the so-called 'Greenhouse Effect'. 3. The 'Greenhouse Effect' is the warming of the global atmosphere as a result of increased concentrations of certain gases in the atmosphere. Although scientific consensus on the timing of a potential global warming has yet to be achieved, little doubt now remains that such an effect will arise. Some global warming has already been observed, and increased concentrations of the 'greenhouse gases' have been measured in the atmosphere.
