PREFACE The basic structure of this joint publication has not been changed since previous editions, published separately by the CEC, the NEA and the IAEA. In this book, a list of subject areas is first given to enable the user to locate the page (Roman numerals) on which the abstracts in that area are listed. From this second list(Classification by Subject Area), the user is directed to the page (Arabic numerals) in the main part of the book where each abstract can be found. The Keywork Index lists all abstracts under the given keywords or descriptors. In order to ensure that all abstracts of interest are found, users should consult entries under all relevant keywords. For example, abstracts about "containment" might be found from the keywords "containment", confinement", accident localization system", etc. Any comments or suggestions for improvements and modifications should be forwarded directly to one of the three responsible international organizations.
