From the publication:
The Nuclear Dilemma In Eastern Europe. World Electricity Conference, November 1994. Antony Froggatt. Greenpeace International. There is a unique opportunity for radical energy reform in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) which would enable the phase out of the unacceptably dangerous nuclear power plants and highly polluting coal stations. This is not taking place at present, in part, because Western companies and International Financial Institutions are too busy promoting their own short term self interests. Instead there needs to be a longer term strategy which takes into consideration both environmental needs and the economic needs of the region.
