LEUKAEMIA AND NUCLEAR POWER IN BRITAIN - THE EVIDENCE SO FAR INTRODUCTION Ever since the YTV programme, "Windscale, the Nuclear Laundry" showed a ten-fold excess of childhood leukaemia near the Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant, there has been considerable public and scientific debate about the possible connection between nuclear power and leukaemia.
