New Organization – New Tasks

SKI started the 1992/93 financial year with a new organization and new tasks
compared with the description given in the comprehensive budget proposal The
new organization allows for a clearer definition of responsibilities for management
and results.
The National Board for Spent Nuclear Fuel (SKN) was abolished on July 1, 1992
and SKI was assigned its tasks.
On behalf of the Government and with the support of special funds, SKI has
substantially expanded its cooperation activities within nuclear safety with
Eastern and Central European countries, and especially Lithuania.
