The accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, in which only one reactor #4 blew up, is unique in its lasting aftermaths. It led to the greatest catastrophe of the XXth century, and caused the nation-wide disaster in Ukraine. Geographically tied to the Ukrainian soil, it changed abruptly the lives of hundreds of thousands of people not only in Ukraine, but in Byelorussia and Russia, too. Its aftermaths could be compared to those of the nuclear 3rd world war. Nowadays Chernobyl is not merely a geographical name of an ancient small town in Ukrainian Polessye. It is the word that entered all the languages of the world as a reminder, a warning and a call for joining efforts in wide international interaction in the struggle for survival of mankind. The tragedy of Chernobyl hit many people. The most horrible is that it affected not only those living now, but also those not born yet. Despite our strenuous efforts this mishap will touch with its black wing the present and the following generations of Ukrainian people and our neighbours on the Earth. Аварiя на Чорнобильськiй АЕС. яка розметала своiм вибухом лише один, четвертий реактор, за своiми довготривалими наслiдками не мае аналогiв. Вона призаела до наймасштабнiшоi катастрофи ХХ столiпя, спричинилася до нацiонального лиха Украïни. Географiчнtо "прив'язана" до украïнськоi землl, во на круто змiнила життя сотень тисяч людей не лише в Украïнi, але й у Бiлopycii, в Pocii. Ця катастрофа за своïми наслiдками дорiвнюе можливим наслiдкам третьоi соiтовоi ядерноi вiйни. Сьогоднi "Чорнобиль" - не лише назва древнього, маленького мiстечка в украïнському Полiссi. Це одне з понять, що увiйшло до всiх мов свlту нагадуванням, nоnередженням i закликом до об'еднання зусиль, налагоджування широкоi мiжнародноï взаемодii у спiльнiй боротьбi за виживання людства. Чорнобильська аварiя- це трагедiя багатьох i багатьох людей. I, що найстрашнiше, не тiльки тих, хто живе сьогоднi, зле й багатьох тих, хто ще й не народи вся. Ця бiда, незалежно вiд наших найефективнiших зусиль, торкнеться своiм чорним крилом i другого, i третього, i наступних nоколiнь народу Украïни, i нашихсусiдiв по nланетi.
