Uit de publicatie:
Australia faces an issue crucial to the future of the human race: uranium. Ground for Concern argues the case for keeping uranium in the ground. The book takes into account the findings of both Fox reports. The authors, and many Australians with them, believe that the issue is the most important in our history. It must not therefore be decided by mining companies or politicians without consultation with the people: the results of uranium export and nuclear power could affect the very survival of our species. 'In my opinion the moral decision for Australians would be to leave their uranium in the ground. I think that the risks attached to its removal - such as those of increasing the chances of thermonuclear war and of destroying part of Australia's great natural heritage - are in no way balanced by the purported benefits.' Paul Ehrlich
