INTRODUCTION

This special report 'Nuclear Energy and the Third World' follows an article 
in the WISE bulletin vo1.2 no.4, may/ june 1980.
It has been written because of the fact that the WISE bulletin wasn't the place 
and didn't have the place to put in all the information we found to be important.
Therefore we now are working on a booklet about the same subject and what 
you have here is the concept for this booklet.
It gives facts about all parts of the uranium 'cycle' in third world countries. 
It also gives some idea of different treaties which are important at this moment 
and different contracts concerning nuclear energy.
We are not able to give the whole picture because it is difficult to get all 
the information.
What you have here is all we could gather and we are sure that there is much 
more information around.
This is also what we want to reach with this report. When you know what we have 
for information, you could give us what you have. This would help us very much 
in making the final booklet.
The information with which we provide you is correct as far as we know. It is 
extremely difficult to be sure and we hope you will contact us when you find 
a mistake.
Just at this time a lot of new contract are being signed and the nuclear industry 
is trying to sell her technology everywhere.
The situation is changing every day. We can keep you informed via the WISE 
bulletin but we would be very glad if you could keep us informed to!
