Introduction

1 This Code of Practice has been drawn up following widespread consultation
with interested parties and in particular in consultation with the Health and Safety
Commission's technical working party on proposed legislative requirements for
radiological protection, consisting of nominees from the Confederation of British
Industry and the Trades Union Congress together with independent experts and
with representatives of the Health and Safety Executive. The National Radiological
Protection Board has also been consulted (as required by section 16(2) of the Health
and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974) and its advice has been incorporated in the Code
of Practice.
