Foreword The calculations presented here, and in the other reports of this CNR series, represent a first approximation of the biological hazards from plutonium exposure. In essence, these are studies of the dosimetry of plutonium exposure. There are certaincritical voids in mankind's knowledge of the physical and physiological parameters which determine the dosimetry, and thus we have made necessary assumptions which are all clearly identified. It is anticipated that as additional data become available, the calculations herein will be updated to take them into account.
