After the incident which occurred at Ignalina 2 on October 15, 1992, the pipelines metal inspection programme for reactor circuit, Unit 1 was expanded. An external examination of elbows of the pipes of reactor channels to the drum separators was performed. During the inspection a dent about 3 mm in depth was discovered on the elbow of the pipe of reactor channel 10-33. Since the strength calculations do not allow operation with such a defect the damaged part of the pipe was replaced by a new one. Basic level rating:0 (Table III.2-A1) Final Rating level:0.
