ERF send date: Thu, 11-03-1993
ERF description: Unit no. 1 turbine lube oil pumps started on auto along with turbine trip and reactor scrammed on PRM high flux. Operating oil pressure was only 9 kg/cm2 despite its oil pump running.
Subsequently on investigation the main oil pump discharge chamber was found damaged. This had caused oil leak and low oil pressure which subsequently caused turbine trip and reactor scrammed on prm high flux.
Justification: As full safety functions were available the event is classified at level 0 as per the users manual part III, Table II Box A1.
