DEUTERIUM INCREASE IN MODERATOR COVER GAS SYSTEM

During the start-up of the plant after a long outage, deuterium content in moderator cover gas started going up and reached the technical specificaiton limit of 4%. The reactor was manually shut down. The reason was higher conductivity of moderator heavy water due to air ingress into cover gas and slight increase in ionic impurities like copper.
BASIS FOR RATING: Can be classified unter B-2P as the reactor was shut down when the operating limit was reached. The event rating chosen is 0.
