On 10 June 1992 during routine survey a particle with gamma activity 200mR/h was discovered. The particle was found along the route from the Main Entrance towards the Reactor Hall. Seven particles were discovered in all, the last one, with a gamma activity 300 mR/h, was found in the Corridor for Transportation of Fresh Fuel and Equipment of Units 1 and 2. The site of NPP Kozloduy 2 (Units 5 and 6) proved to be uncontaminated. It is supposed that all the particles originated from the Transport Corridor. The investigation continues. The event resulted in a failure to maintain the proper control over radioactive materials and spread of contamination on site. Level 1 was justified acc. p. 4.4e of the User's Manual.
