ERF description: The electrical fire of the air compressor motor (contained in the motor and did not spread to adjacent areas) occurred at unit 1 and 2 support building at 16:30 on 28.9.95. The support building is located on the territory of the NPP and does not contain safety related equipment or radioactive materials. The fire was caused by a short circuit and was extinguished by operational personnel soon afterwards.
There was no release of radioactive materials, nor radiation exposure to any personnel.
The event is rated as level no safety significance.
