ERF description: The French Regulatory Authority was informed on 17 September that a type A package containing samples has been lost on 9 September during its transport in France, before intended shipment to the USA.
This package consigned by EURODIF (France) contains two samples of uranium hexafluoride (a total activity of 1.1 MBq). The package, a yellow box 20cm square, has a white labell with number UN 2978.
Due to the loss of this radioactive package, the competent authority of France rated this event at level one on the INES scale.

The package was recovered on 28 September 2004 and the event re-ated to level 0 (zero)
