A radiologist, using a scanner for interventional radiology practices, has been exposed to an equivalent dose for the extremities of more than 500mSv, which is the yearly statutory limit, measured at the end of the first quarter of 2017.
The assessment of the event shows that incorrect practices are mainly responsible, such as the presence of the radiologists hands within the X-ray beam.
An inspection has been carried out by ASN on 24 January 2018.
