Stolen Radiography Camera

On October 3, 2020, at approximately 9:00 UTC, the CNSNS received a notification about the theft of a radiography camera (model SPEC 150) near to Texcoco town, State of Mexico. This camera was stolen with the vehicle along the Calpulalpan-Texcoco road (Km 59) when the radiographer was driving and was forced to pull over by criminals.
The SPEC 150 camera serial number is 2096 and contains a category 2 radioactive source of Iridium-192 with an activity of 2.57 TBq.
On October 3, 2020, at approximately 00:00 UTC, the CNSNS was notified by the Civil Protection Authorities that the SPEC 150 camera was found at kilometer 50 Calpulalpan-Texcoco road. At 03:00 UTC the Licensee notified the CNSNS that the camera was in good condition and the Iridium radioactive source was in a shielded position.
